To me these 3 models are the most important sneakers ever designed.

Clockwise, starting from left:

New Balance 576
First released in 1988 for the US market, but was dropped after failed sales expectations. Reintroduced to the European market in 1997 and never left since. This is a reissue from the mid 2000s an Exclusive Edition Made in England.

Adidas Campus
First released in the 1970s as the Tournament, but was renamed 'Campus' in around 1980. This is a reissue from the late 2000s called 'Campus 80s' where they made the last like it was in the 1980s.

Puma Suede
First released in 1968 it is also known as the States (for European market) or the Clyde (signature model for Basketball player Walter 'Clyde' Frazier). Over the years the shape of the shoe changed a lot and there are now 2 separate models the Suede (pointier toebox) and the Clyde (stubbier toebox). This is an early 2000s version made out of hemp and is also a bit different in shape and fit compared to the Suede and Clyde model.

New Balance 576 Crooked Tongues Special Edition

I've posted about these about a year ago and I finally had the opportunity to get my hands on 2 of the 4 colourways. Like I mentioned back then it was very hard hard to get a pair in this size when they released, but to still be able to get two pair in dead stock condition 6 years later was a very pleasant surprise.

These New balance 576's were released in 2004 in a special collaboration with Sneaker website Crookedtongues.com. There were only 50 pairs released per colourway, so the chances to get a pair were very limited. Even now it is still hard to track down any pictures or solid info on the release it self. Therefore I've tried to re-create the colourways in Photoshop templates from the picture that I have from the book 'Sneakers: The Complete Collectors' Guide.

Puma Basket Custom

The Base shoe is an early 2000s Basket. Really nice shoe, but I'm not a big fan of white leather, so decided to tweak them a little.

Glued and stitched some foam (from a sponge:) on to the back of the tongue for some padding and it also makes the shoe fit better and add something to the overall shape.

Didn't bother with all the branding, I could've stitched the tongue label back on, but they are a custom and I'm planning to wear them so you wont see it anyhow.

The base shoe is

Painted them with Navy Blue suede dye and the heel tab with a Sienna Brown marker and stitched a piece of leather on the tongue as a finishing touch.

It has been a great year with some very good retro's and some very good new designs. My favourite was by far the Feit Stitchdown, they smashed it on all fronts followed by the retro of the New Balance 1300 and Reebok GL 6000

The Puma suedes this year were sweet; no need for late night hunting trips on auction websites, just had to pick them up in the local shop for a bargain price. They were all good, but these were my favourites.

In 1990 lots of of the groundbreaking stuff which was done was published in a black ‘n white xeroxed graffiti magazine (Bomber). After that it is never published in colour. In this publication all the stuff from back then, together with stuff from then until now will be printed in full coulour. There will be lots of unpublished stuff in from the past 20 years…including stuff from last week.
The publication has a newspaper-tabloid format – 64 pages. This is a (conceptual) statement; it will disappear because of time and it is about ‘actuality’… like graffiti.
We had 1500 copies printed. 100 will be given away. 325 will be sold to cover costs. the rest is burned to emphasize the limitness…. and non profitness…
New York based novel writer Dumar Brown aka Nov York had written a piece/preface.”
